This eight-day tour takes you on five memorable rides around the Haute Pyrenees region. Including many of the famous Pyrenean cols like the Aspin and the Tourmalet, the route picks out a spectacular mountain backdrop that changes daily, providing a challenging but unforgettable tour. We stay in comfortable gites, so all you have to do is enjoy the riding and the scenery.
Day 1: Arrive at Toulouse airport and transfer to Bertren.
Day 2: Starting the ride at 1800 metres. We descend into the valley of the Peyresourde and climb up and over the Col to the valley of Loudenvielle, finishing the day with a climb over the Col d'Azet and a great descent into St Lary.
Day 3: With the choice of transferring or riding to our start point at the Col de Aspin, we ride a great undulating circuit around the valley of the Payolle and descend to the village of St Marie de Campan.
Day 4: With a choice of transferring or riding to the Col de Tourmalet, we start the ride with a great descent on a single track traversing down the valley to join a jeep tracked climb traversing the Capet. On then for a final great 25-hairpin descent to the town of Bareges.
Day 5: Day off in the town of Bareges with a chance to ride your own routes or take a visit to the Observatory and see the great panoramic views of the mountain range at 2800m
Day 6: Starting off in the lower valley of Esparros we ride a great circuit undulating and winding around the valley and the cols of the pretty area of Les Baronnies.
Day 7: A final day's epic ride around the Barousse and Luchon area to finish off a great and challenging week along some of the best trails in Europe.
Day 8: Transfer back to Toulouse airport and head home.
