Coast-to-Coast 'Classic'

Route and Profiles

Day 1 – Arrive to Toulouse or Biarritz airport. Transfer to Biarritz hotel base, bike build and optional warm-up ride. Pre-ride group dinner and meet PyrActif staff.

Day 2 – Biarritz to Gurmencon (160km; 1900m elevation gain) via the minor cols of Col de St Ignace, Col de Pinodieta & Col d’Osquich

Day 3 – Gurmencon to Pierrefitte-Nestalas (95km; 2320m elevation gain) via the cols of Marie Blanque (Cat 1), Col d’Aubisque (HC) & Col de Soulour

Day 4 – Argeles-Gazost to Bertren (115km; 2550m elevation gain) via Col du Tourmalet (HC) & Col d’Aspin (Cat 2)

Day 5 – Bertren to Tarascon (128km; 2060m elevation gain) viathe Col des Ares (Cat 3), Col de Buret (Cat 4), Col de Portet d'Aspet (Cat 2) & Col de Port (Cat 2)

Day 6 – Tarascon to Prades (135km; 2525m elevation gain) via La Route des Corniches,the Col de Marmare (Cat 2) & the

Col de Jau (Cat 1)

Day 7 – Prades to Argeles sur Mer (67km; 200m elevation gain)

Note: On completion of the ride, we have lunch in Argeles-sur-Mer, box up the bikes and drive back to Carcassonne where we spend the evening exploring the historic citadel and enjoying a deserved end-of-ride celebratory dinner.

Day 8 – France to home (morning transfer from our overnight hotel in Carcassonne to either Carcassonne or Toulouse airport).
